Post Operative Instructions

Post Operative Instructions

The staff at the Women’s Surgery Center is committed to ensuring that your postoperative experience is as comfortable as possible. Please do not hesitate to call the office or answering service for any questions after recovery. Any questions regarding your surgery or postoperative recovery should be directed to the staff at the office, not to your primary care physician. The following information will help answer the frequently asked questions and will help you understand some of the common experiences that may occur after your surgery.

What should I expect immediately after surgery?

Patients should expect to receive a post-operative call from a member of our medical staff 24 to 72 hours after surgery. During this call, one of our medical staff will review your surgical experience and post-operative care. We will schedule your post-operative visit during this call. If you have any concerns you should bring them up at this time. If you have any additional concerns before or after this call, we invite you to call our main office number and speak to a member of our medical staff.

Please be sure our office has the best phone number to reach you during your post-operative recovery. Additional backup numbers, like a cell phone, may be helpful. If for some reason you do not receive a call, feel free to call us to discuss your recovery and schedule your post-operative appointment. Please remember that we make these calls on business days, only, so if your surgery was on a Friday you can expect a call from our office on Monday. Again, you may call us at any time if you have questions or concerns.

Post Operative Instructions

The Women's Surgery Center has writted post-operative instructions specifically for the procedures we use. These instructions are consistent with our recommendations and should be followed closely. We urge patients to disregard hospital post-operative instructions as they can be inconsistent with our instructions and do not pertain to the exact procedures we use. We encourage you to download the post-operative instructions for your surgery from this page. These are identical to the forms you can receive directly from our office.

Again, the hospitals standard post-op forms may contain incorrect information for you; our post-operative instructions are designed for Women's Surgery Center patients.
